New to the Wood Violins line up are the violin bows Turbow and Turbow Pro.
Finally there are two worthy bows to use with Wood Violins! Choose from 2 different models in 4 colors. Commissioned by Mark Wood himself, these bows were specifically designed for use with electric violins. A great combination of flexibility and balance create a bow with the strength for strong playing and the subtlety for precise, quieter passages (assuming you ever do that with your electric...) Real horsehair and custom designed frogs by Paulus round out 2 excellent bows for the budget conscious and the radical player.
Texalium/carbon stick, nickel silver winding, genuine horsehair. Custom ebony frog by Paulus. The Turbow bow is a great introduction to the performance of pro level carbon bow for the aspiring student.

Use the bow Mark Wood uses in every performance! The Pro Turbow is a full carbon bow, expertly balanced and stiff enough for even a 7 string Viper Violin. Custom braided carbon fiber stick, nickel silver winding and tip, genuine horsehair, custom ebony Paulus frog.
Available in carbon black or carbon black with red highlights. $309

Fishman's lightest and most portable amp, the Loudbox Mini delivers the kind of tonal quality that is perfect for amplifying bowed electric instruments. The Loudbox Mini has 60 watts of smooth power, and two channels featuring Fishman's legendary preamp and tone controls, plus digital reverb and chorus. The Loudbox Mini has an MP3 input allowing you to play along with your favorite tunes, and a balanced digital D.I. output for sending your signal efficiently to a computer or the P.A. system at your performance.
The Loudbox Mini bridges the gap from a practice amp to the larger Loudbox amplifiers with pure, punchy sound and a lightweight design for portability. You'll only need to step up to the Loudbox 100 or Loudbox Performer if you need the Mini's quality of sound at high volumes. The Loudbox Mini can hold its own in almost every live performance venue you may find yourself.

This high quality cable is outfitted with a right angle plug which is perfect for keeping the cable out of the way of your bow.
Choose the Custom series cable as your main cable from instrument to wah pedal or amplifier, and the less expensive Classic as your secondary cable to connect your wah pedal to the amplifer.
Both are good quality cables, but if you are only getting one, choose the high quality Custom series.
Developed in the UK, this is one of the best temporary pickups we have tested. The piezo pickup is housed inside a soft plastic band that protects your finish while placing the pickup away from excess bow noise. With the pickup positioned over the body of your instrument you get a warmer, truer acoustic sound than other pickups, and the signal is more protected inside the band, making feedback less of a problem.
If you aren't ready to step up to a full solid body electric instrument, the Band is the perfect solution to turning up the volume while still hearing what you are used to. Or just go for it and put it through some distortion and you'll be rocking in no time!
The Band requires a preamp to give you enough signal. Add a Fishman preamp from below to boost the signal from The Band to your amp. Don't forget you'll need 2 instrument cables for the connections.
The Fishman preamp is a sturdy, affordable preamp for boosting the passive signal of a piezo pickup to a level high enough to be easily reproduced by your amplifier. Bass, Treble and volume controls. Battery and AC plug. $49.99
Upgrade to the Pro EQ version to improve the fine tuning of your sound with its built in equalizer and brilliance control. $99.99
Features:
This sturdy Hard Case is what you need to carry your Viper electric violin.
Strong and lightweight, this case is sturdy enough to keep your Viper well protected, with backpack straps and handle, room for 2 bows and several large accessory compartments.
We recommend the Wolf Secondo for use with all SV Stingray violins, Custom Stingray violins and Sabre violins due to the lightweight, thin design of these instruments (Vipers and Cobras are self-supporting). Through extensive testing we have determined that most shoulder rests including Kun and Everest brands do not fit well on these instruments. The Wolf Secondo is the best we have found for Stingray and Sabre violins.
Back to Top ^"This book, geared toward both string educators and students alike, provides a fresh approach to the violin, an instrument that has been around for hundreds of years, and offers some insight into what I feel is the next step in its evolution." - Mark Wood. This book will introduce both educators and students to a new violin pedagogy that can help us to develop a certain kind of musicianship...
The Electrify Your Strings book has been thoroughly reviewed by the Davidson Violins staff. We have concluded that this is a fundamentally important book for anyone exploring rock and blues styles on a violin, whether a SV-4 Stingray violin, Viper violin or your personal acoustic violin. If you've seen Mark Wood play and are inspired to try it, this is a great follow up to attending his concerts or workshops, providing the background in technique that you need to really dig deep in these styles. Arpeggios and scales, explanations, biographical material and improvisation studies, this is basically Mark's life as a performer and educator in written form. The studies are progressive, beginning with the basics and moving through to pretty complex, professional player stuff. As with everything Mark Wood does, this book inspires you stay dedicated to making fantastic music every time you play, in whatever style you love.
